
Dr. Philip Tawil
Optometrist
Dr. Tawil was awarded his Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001 after receiving his bachelor’s degree at U.C. Irvine. He completed a residency in low vision, after which Dr. Tawil taught at both the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Pacific University. In private practice for more than seven years, Dr Tawil offers comprehensive vision exams and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases and conditions. His infectious laugh can be heard throughout the office, and he has formed close friendships with many of his patients. Dr. Tawil loves exercise and staying fit as well as spending time with his friends.
Todd Bauer
Optician
Todd became an American Board of Opticianry-Certified Optician in 2014. When not styling patients, he enjoys volunteering at the Berkeley Free Clinic as a Microscopist and Phlebotomist and watching TV. Todd lives alone with his two cats.
Mary Novie

Mary inherited her passion for stylish glasses from her mother, a fashion icon in her own right. While her father owned two optical shops, Mary expanded her reach to a 30-year accessories career, leading her to the world of eyewear. Her excitement to style patients in new glasses is matched only by her love of her two grandchildren.
Alexis Flores
Optician
Alexis grew up in Watsonville, but she loves living in San Francisco for all the great food and fun. Her favorite part about working at OPT Optometric is meeting our cool patients and helping them find great looks.
